Saturday Night Oldies: Put a Little Love in Your Heart

James Taylor, Carol King, Jim Croce, Simon and Garfunkel, Grand Funk, 10cc, Steely Dan, The Spinners, The Eagles, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Queen...

Saturday nights are like they used to be. Great music, great fun, great times.
In the cars or on the beach, all you heard was am radio, and all you saw you were smiles.

We were unified, yet diverse. We were linked to each other, sharing in the popular culture, yet each, to borrow from Fleetwood Mac, going his own way, thinking his own thoughts, doing his own thing.

A far cry from what is seen today, sadly.

Yes, there was a world of hit music before Hip Hop and fashionable violence. Before junior high school students sued for their rights to display body pierces and tattoos. Before metal detectors framed the hallways of our schools, and before bleeding was funny.

Yes, it was a great world.

Tune-in to WABC by clicking "Listen Now", for their Saturday Night Oldies show hosted by Mark Simone and get a taste of that very much alive spirit.

Mark Simone often has singers, producers, and other well known figures of the 60s, 70s, 80s call-in to the show or visit the studios in NYC for some candid fun talk.

Go to the related site's message board to chat with other listeners and make requests for future shows. Mark regularly mentions comments on-air.

Hope to see ya there.

Keep on Truckin'!
Robert
