Going Postal II

Though they're not entirely prevalent, I am seeing more and more of these trike scooters being used by the Federal Post Office over the tried and true Honda Postal Cub and its competitor Yamaha's knock-off, the Postal Mate.

Richie's Riches

Donald Richie, the foremost writer on Japanese cinema, has revised his excellent
"100 Years of Japanese Film". For anyone interested in Japan, I highly recommend his work.

Having lived in Japan since 1947, and having interviewed almost every major and minor artist, writer and filmmaker in Japan since then, his view is unique, and unequalled in the West.

Read an interview he gave in Metropolis here.

Vox Populi

Vox Populi, originally uploaded by supercublogger.

Feels nice to have my bike featured on the Honda site. Though it didn't win the "Best Shot" prize, still, it was good enough to be used in the Flash presentation for Rider's Voice. Selected from among all bike categories and hundreds of individual bikes, that's not too shabby at all.

Scooter Liberal

I apologize for the profanity displayed on this person's bike in Shinagawa Tokyo. I couldn't resist the urge to take a picture of it. I think it says it all, since the bike was damaged heavily from abuse, dented, parked illegally, and abandoned where it sits to this day. Kind of portrays a complete picture, doesn't it?
